”I wanted to be a doctor because I love helping people. If I can make a patient happy, I am happy as well. I started out as a doctor of general practice before choosing plastic surgery as my specialized field. Most people believe that plastic surgery only consists of cosmetic surgery, but this field encapsulates at least 7 or 8 other areas. My patients consist of two main groups, with the first consisting of cosmetic surgery patients; the second group consists of people who need plastic surgery to rebuild or strengthen a damaged organ. This group includes people who were hurt in accidents, have broken bones, severe burns, or they are children who are born with deformed features like a cleft palate. In terms of cosmetic surgery, I start by talking and consulting with my patient about what they want to get done. If I think it is not suitable to the patient’s appearance or the operation won’t make an impact, I will tell the patient outright because everyone’s features are different. My goal is to provide my patient with as much information as I can so that the patient can make the best decision. I always examine the patient’s medical history, especially their overall health, their medicinal history and their scars. This information is also essential in my work with an anaesthesiologist when we determine how best to prepare the patient for the surgery. After this is done, I make sure that the patient receives the appropriate care for their condition. I specialize in all types of cosmetic surgery, including breast surgery for breast cancer patients. I am always proud whenever I perform cosmetic surgery and the patient is happy with the result. Everyone wants to look good, because appearance can help someone progress in life. Therefore, I always give my all, so that my patients get the best and the safest surgery possible.
